Interested in a fine dining experience? Try Amelia’s.

I read a few positive reviews about Amelia’s restaurant before my first visit, so I had high expectations. When I visited, those hopes were met and exceeded; living up to the hype on every front.

Upon entering, you might feel as if you are in New York or San Francisco. The narrow space is truly that unique and inviting; unlike anything in Tulsa. Located at 122 N. Boston Avenue in the Tulsa Arts District, the atmosphere is cozy, sophisticated and enchanting.

Meticulousness defined.

The attention to detail is evident immediately, from the eclectic furnishings to the elegant and precisely presented place settings on every table; with fresh linens, menus and wine glasses.

Amelia’s proprietor is Amelia Eesley, formerly the GM at Stonehorse Cafe. Collaborating with chef Kevin Snell, they’ve created a unique dining experience that specializes in wood-fired, locally sourced cuisine, paired with fine wines from around the world.

The narrowness of the space creates some interesting seating arrangements, some of which offer limited privacy and others with a more shared experience. I like the chef’s counter where you observe staff as they prepare your food and work on the Argentinian style grill.

Aspects of the menu, which features wood-fired foods, fresh ingredients, handmade pastas and locally sourced produce, change daily depending on what is available from local farmers. Most of the pizzas and flatbread favorites are always available.

I’ve found the wait-staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and without pretense. You might recognize a few of them from some of Tulsa’s other fine dining establishments. They are mostly seasoned veterans with the skills you expect and deserve.

A great addition to Tulsa’s culinary scene

The atmosphere is great, but in the end, the food steals the show. I’ve tried five or six of the menu items, both at lunch and dinner and they have all been delicious, superbly crafted and beautifully presented. All things considered, it is the quintessential dining experience that satisfies from beginning to end.

Price wise, Amelia’s compares favorably with other fine dining establishments. Dinners with alcohol can be a bit pricey and are reserved for special occasions in our household. On the other hand, lunch prices are quite reasonable and actually competitive with most standard fare restaurants.

You won’t be disappointed.

Amelia’s also offers a cozy and secluded dining room that can be booked for private parties. Parking in The Arts District can be a challenge, so Amelia’s offers complimentary Valet parking on Friday and Saturday evenings and event nights. Reservations are a must on the weekends. Call: 918 728-2435
